Here at Whippet we’re really proud of our beers. Beer is our passion and we hope that comes across in our end product.
Progressive – we think so, Passionate – we know so, Tasty – we hope so!
The team aim to produce a core range of four progressive cask ales with interesting and unusual seasonal offerings joining the fold in 2016. The emphasis is on quality and consistency with each batch being as good as the last. We source the finest Yorkshire malt alongside quality Northern and Southern hemisphere hops and only supply the best beer outlets to ensure our products get to you in the best possible condition.
We produce four core beers alongside two seasonal offerings.
Our core beers are:
House Dogge – 3.7% light copper coloured Standard Bitter
This is our Standard Bitter with bite – not too much, but enough to mark it out from the run-of-the-mill, drab offerings that are out there. Hopped with Cascade, Centennial and Summit this light copper coloured ale has a mild fruity aroma and slightly bitter taste which leads to a dry finish.
Drinkability is the key to this “session ale”.
English Whippet – 4.2% golden coloured English Pale Ale
This English Pale Ale, or Extra Special Bitter, is brewed using all English ingredients. The quality Yorkshire malt gives the beer its golden colour with fine Admiral and Bramling Cross hops adding a hop bitterness to the taste, although one that doesn’t dominate the malt flavours.
A well-balanced, easy drinking bitter.
Little Curre – 5.2% black coloured Oatmeal Stout
Mild roasted grain aromas give way to a medium sweet, earthy flavour in this black coloured Oatmeal Stout. This 3 malt stout, brewed with the addition of roasted barley and flaked oats, uses British East Kent Goldings and Fuggle hops to get the traditional low hop flavour.
A silky, full-bodied, dark beer.
